Topics on the Test

Competitors will be evaluated on:

  • Partnership with local MRC unit – mandatory collaboration and verification

  • Portfolio content & documentation (title page, verification forms, activity summaries, publicity, data, impact)

  • Community impact categories, including:

    • Strengthening public health

    • Serving vulnerable populations

    • Supporting non-emergency community events

    • Developing/strengthening HOSA–MRC partnership

    • Improving preparedness or resilience

    • Training/exercising to improve community response

    • Supporting emergency response

  • Presentation skills – clear explanation of activities, impact, and goals accomplished

  • Professionalism & attire – HOSA uniform or business dress

Event Day Checklist:

  • Photo ID for both rounds

  • ONE team member must upload the portfolio by May 15

  • Portfolio (hard copy optional for presentation)

  • Index cards or electronic notecards (optional)

  • Professional attire or official HOSA uniform (bonus points for correct dress)

  • Provided by HOSA: equipment and supplies listed in Appendix I

  • Know the General Rules & Regulations
